Time Running Out and other short poems

Everytime I try to do something
Time goes by too fast,

In this worry of finishing
I lose the point of start,

I chase the flawless,
but my moment just doesn't last

I do my part,
I make my start

I run with the wind
and I swim with the stars

But how do I move
the burden of my beating heart

I sit by myself
pouring my tea

yet I couldn't find one soul
like my tea found me

I hear a whisper
from a large crowd
noisy they are
yet, the words aren't abound

My words weave this
the story of my way
yet I can't seem to craft
the shape of my day

I forget when I try to remember
things that have happened in the past
like water vapour, fire and ember
they hold me up
up my carefully crafted cast

Smol Pup smol poem

Just like a tiny stray log,

Here lays my cute little dog,

I hold tea in my cup

Looking at my lovely furry pup

Another variation, a limerick:-

The weather was smoggy

And lying down was my cute little doggy

I had tea in my cup

Beside my furry little pup

And my glasses all foggy

Impromptu Poetry

So the following are a result of a game I was playing with a friend where we were supposed to suggest three random words to each other and write a poem including those words :-

My Poems-

  • The words- Company, Difference, Pure

I got a call
I went there alone
What difference does it make
So i even left my phone
Mild mannered seemed I
So naive and pure
What difference does it make
Since now I was alone
Darkness surrounded me
Stars were above
And even bats I saw
Fear I could not sense
Just a little
Excitement and awe
Now they came all over
And circled me around
Those big men with shoes
Black and brown
Faceless & firm they stood
On a marble ground
Finally they spoke
And so did I
By the time I reached,
It all felt like a dream
Unbelievable and funny
Especially when they asked
Would you like to work
For our company

  • The words- Carrot, elephant, piano

Mother grew a carrot
And I stood by to see
Large was the carrot
Larger than any elephant
Taller than the oak tree
Gathered we all around
When she was pulling out
With music and fireworks, the town cheered
Flutes, horns and drums,
And some just gave a shout
A dream it was too vivid
Broken when I saw
A piano played by a mouse

  • The words- Love, Alone, Rare

I once met a dove
However much was it rare
We had our times
We drank our wines
she lived in my veins
And precious moments we shared
But one night I couldn't find her
No matter where I looked
Lost was my love
I called for her in waking
And in prayer
For what sins do I now atone
That she left me heartbroken
Living in this stranger world
All and all alone.

The following are her adorable creations which she spun out of the words I suggested. (She's adorable too)

  • The words- Tree, well, starfish

The cute little starfish
Climbing up a tree
Why should it be weird
Well it's just poetry

  • The words- Pillar, Mountain, Store

Hey there, yes you!
Have you seen my pup?🐶
He loves to run around pillars
And jump up!
I've been to the store
And to the park
Where did you go honey
I miss your cute bark😢
Come home quick
Your mountain of leaves is waiting🍂
These moments missing you...
Are soooooo irritating😣

The following is something I wrote because it simply just occurred to me texting a girl I liked at the time. Yes, there are some imitations in it from my own previous works.

Well, I'm still awake so lemme have a go at verse tonight.

You're asleep, as I lay wide awake
Still lost in thoughts
Can't say how long is it
Going to take
Words I spew
My keys jingle
What must you be doing
While my keyboard tingles

An astir life marred
By tumult and turmoil
Few pieces of peace
Caught through slumber
O demoiselle o mine

Oh shit,
You're awake
Now I've said
Though my verse is waste
What shall I do now
When it doesn't make sense
It's like a non fatal blow
But sounds in my head
kachink and kappow!

Very Short Poems

The night gathers
and engulfs the sky
Herein o languid dove of mine
Sunken in the palm of pillows
She descends to deep slumber
For in her dreams, I am nigh.

Sailing bottomless seas,
In darkness infinite
You show me the way,
My tiny pillar of light.

An astir life marred
by tumult and turmoil
Few pieces of peace
Caught through slumber
O demoiselle o mine.

And girl...
As I live and breath,
through flesh and flair,
by candour and finesse,
I'm gonna do it all.
May no one care
For life is but one,
And just one to spare.

He slothed by day
And slept at night
He played his way, much to his delight
Bitter women he met
New points to earn
He forged ahead, to smoke fern
He plodded on and thrived,
And after a life well lived, he happily died.

Nights go by
As I lay wide awake,
Fill my heart tonight
My strawberry cheesecake.

Novel Breakthrough

Half my heart
inside this book
The twists and turns
had me shook
The other half
drowned in sorrow
or gleaming with joy
however it was
she callously took;
Broken it's been
since time felt
where was I
before my world melt;
Now I see
inside the broken dream
through my glass of perceptions
clearer it is now
by being broken it seems;
Trust again, will I not
no light of hope
not a single beam
clearer as my thoughts are now
as broken my heart it seems.

Wander and Lost

She reigns my thoughts
My mind is adrift
Always closer was she
But now, memories I sift
The void she's left,
Burns my insides,
Cold as ice yet potent as fire;
The cushion to my falls,
My sceptre of charm
Also, she was my woe
My ruin and my harm;
All's so gone,
With her, many parts of me
Coquettish & cheeky, I used to be
Alas! memories are all,
That now I sift
The pieces she destroyed,
Wounds that won't mend;
Even if she herself, comes to tend.
Yet my heart calls to her,
Hoping, might our paths entwine
Where must you be now
O baby girl, O mine.

Fun ono?

Dreary and dull
slow and lull
pain in vain
efforts but no gain;
fast and tedious
vague yet fastidious
boring and drab
shrimps and crab
such is life,
so capricious,
wonderous and rife;
Grievous, as it may be,
why let it be dull and dreary?

Sickly Heart

Be still my heart
thou hast known
worse than this
You've had days,
worse than the most dreary nights
You've had times,
worse than the most fiery plights;
You've withstood strikes and wounds
words, fists, knives and spoons
You've managed all, my little heart
the runs, the walks and the clocks
meanderings which lead you away
You have found, your reasons to stay
far away, far away, in places,
where the demons lay
You have bested them all
and here you stand,
as invincible as you are brave.

Eye Of Osiris

Thunder blazed from the sky
Darkness spread through the holy land
Clouds gathered like never before
Mighty cats gave out a tearing roar

Mob gathered around on roads,
Palaces and on the roofs
All wondered and whispered
Fear was the same in all
Is this the time for our damnation?
Have our sins gone beyond salvation?
Is this the time to revise god’s creation?

Desperate were they for a glimmer of hope
Turned to their king, and pleaded
Asked him what should they do?
Who to sacrifice or what to give
To the gods who've abandoned their kind

The king was in awe
Of the strange phenomenon
He had never seen anything like it
Neither his ancestors did
Nor, he suspected, his successors will
Part of him was confused
Whether it’s the end or
A blessing from the heavenly den
Are they really facing annihilation?
Or was he chosen upon a sacred decision?

Uttered no word just stared the sky
The king himself together
With his family and subjects
Just stared at the sky

Then the clouds cleared
From just the centre of the sky
And the mortals gazed
With the utmost fascination
As there emerged an eye

Now they were hysterical
This was the eye of god, they shouted
The all-seeing-eye
The eye of Amun, the eye of Argus
The eye of Osiris, the eye of Shiva

The angelic light from the eye
Looked only towards the king
The crowd went silent
Until someone cried-“The king shall die”

This was a shock to all
Stoned as a corpse was now the king
His valour deserted him
And madness took over
Tears rolled down and
His life seemed to slip by

He murmured then screamed
“Why me? what have I done?”
“Why me? I am pious”
“As good a man of god as any man can be”
“I was the one, atrocity who endured”

“But whatever shall it be,
The king must be willing
To sacrifice even himself
If ever the need be"

O’ holy vision, the All Seeing Eye
Now I see, the true duty of a king
I am a sinner, please forgive me
Don’t ever punish my people for my sins
For now I confess, I am the sinister being
You have chosen me, And I shall provide
So be it as it may, “The King shall die”

Memoirs of an Addict

Long ago was my first time
I tried what I shouldn’t have
Strange at first but stopped nevertheless
I enjoyed it the most and felt no stress
Curious to try something new
I did it without fear, as I always do
Pleasure was the wish, the cause and the result.
Now I can’t remember
When was that first time
I’ve lost count, might never kept any
It was a routine, everyday necessity
Can’t remember when this hobby became my habit
But nevertheless, I was in caves now
So deep so dark in the bottom of the seas
Surrounded by darkness drowned in liquid
How did I breath?
Slowly I was dying but little did I care
As long as I got my habit I felt alive
Wasn’t long till someone got concerned
And showed me the mirror
My soul appeared scorched.
Now I hesitated, doubted my habit but not gave it up
But this was enough, a little light in darkness
From here reached hands which rescued me
From my own demons, my insidious foes
I tried hard, tried for long
To cure this prolonged disease,
I thought I was my own master but urges were defiant
Resisting all control.
Even after all, I recovered
Remission will continue the rest of my life
All I had to do now is make up for the lost time
But how could one recover a completely lost life
It looks worthless now what was once inseparable to me
All my precious time with my loved ones, such a waste
Still they are the ones I owe my existence to
Their love changed me or maybe prevented a horrible change
My most regretful of deeds,
For all the love I received, I only inflicted pain.

Independent Imagination

No help is wanted for I’m not weak,
Conventions are my bounds
Freedom is all I seek.
In a world of swimmers
Who go along the tide,
I for one made a different stride.
Wished to sail among waters
No fish has ever seen
Felt proud for adventures, I might have been.
But move out of the shoal
And you’ll see an invisible wall,
Not to be noticed
But standing tall.

First you don’t get it
Then you refuse to believe,
This can’t be the end
For all you’ve set to achieve.
You see how can only you be confined
And others roam free
But their wings are short
They return to the same tree.
Doing the same thing they did yesterday,
Doing the same thing they will do tomorrow.

Occupying is the job of land dwellers,
They don’t fear lengths, area or the terrain,
They are the mighty conquerors
Who will survive
Be it the sun, the frost or the rain.
What they don’t do often is, accepting change
They will continue to build the same thing
Until no one higher finds it strange.
They don’t believe it’s possible
To create something new,
Something which was never seen before
By the many or the few.

What good is something whose value
When you realize is gone
Such is the nature of freedom
Which is seldom touched upon
You have caged me
But I will break free
The barriers of rumours,
Responsibility and judgments will not stop me
For I know, I maybe odd within
But I have a reason
To bring change to the world
To redefine the meaning of my origin
You can stop me for now
But I see the future
Where I’m no longer bound
Where I and only I wield my power
On my sky, on my ground.

I dream of getting out
And plan on wreaking havoc
Bring chaos to this perfectly ordered world
Which does nothing but contains
Its own inhabitants in non-existent walls
Made of greed, agony and doubt
Be it the invitation to my doom
I’ll still be getting out

Your freedom is nothing but an illusion
If you don’t stride against
If you don’t give yourself to change
Do what you’ve never done
Break all the conventions,
For they are nothing but bounds
And freedom is all you seek.
